Whine and Please

While whining seems a bit self-indulgent and bargaining ineffective, bear with me while I drop into whining mode for a bit.  I promise I’ll be right back.
What with the queasiness, fatigue and uncertainty I sure have been in a bad mood lately.  As we step up the dosage of the Parkinson meds each step brings the queasiness back for a day or two.  I don’t know why it’s back this weekend since we haven’t changed the dosage.  I must just be metabolizing it differently. I’m still figuring out when to take it, with food or without.  Whine.
The fatigue is something else again.  Do you know what sleep hygiene is?  It’s a recommended regimen for getting the best night’s sleep—falling asleep and staying asleep. Parkinson’s can affect your sleep so it’s important to have good sleep habits.  Doc says my sleep routines are atrocious, (my word, not the sainted Doc’s).  He says good sleep habits means:  No TV in the bedroom, ever, ever, ever.  No reading in bed. No laptop. No pets on the bed.  (I thought the reason they made king sized beds was so you could sleep on one side and use the other side for the laptop, phone, iPad, sketchbook and remote control.) Here’s the worst – no caffeine.  Is life really worth living without coffee? Whine.
All right, so I don’t know what the future holds. Whine. Nobody does. Whine.
So if I’m more disciplined about taking the meds exactly when the alarms on my phone go off, the queasiness might be a little more manageable. Bargain.
I’ll cut back on the coffee, turn the TV off and kick the cat off the bed (I won’t miss those sewing needles masquerading as claws anyway.) That should help with the fatigue. Bargain.
And I’ll plan for the future but live in the moment.  Bargain.
Ok, I’m back.
I think I’ll celebrate with some wine and cheese.

Well at least there's wine! I know how hard it is for you to give up coffee. Thinking about all those pots we have gone through together...
